1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Won't Start
This is a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0L V6 Automatic. It sat for some time without being driven. Starter was bad so it was replaced and also has new spark plugs and sp wires and new battery.
But when I try to start it, it sounds like it is about to start, but just won't. Checked fuel line at injector and no fuel at all is being pumped. But the fuel pump can be heard running when trying to start.
I don't want to buy a new fuel pump if it's not that. Does anyone have any knowledge about this?
Also, where is the fuel filter on the car? Some say it's in the gas tank, some say it's on the fuel pump and some say it's not.
Thanks for your reply.

No fuel pressure at your injectors?...your Fuel filter would have to be 100% plugged to get no fuel at all, just because you can hear your fuel pump running...does not mean its good!!.....Just replaced the fuel pump on my 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee!...rather than dropping the fuel tank etc.its easier to cut a small hatch in the cargo area...pump is about $200.00 at NAPA!

I would say the fuel filter is clogged should be located on drivers side frame rail just above the rear wheel. its hard to miss it as it should be in a cradle that holds it in place.
