内容摘要：This paper constructs a comprehensive index measuring migrant children's school enrollment restriction. We then combine a residential sorting model with a DID framework to estimate migrant families' willingness to pay (WTP) for this school enrollment restriction. Empirical results show that children's school enrollment restriction significantly affect migrant families’location choice. The estimated average WTP is about 3% of a family's monthly income. Counterfactual simulation indicates that eliminating migrant children's school enrollment restriction will increase household welfare by 3.3 percentage points for those being affected.
